The Duchess of Cornwall unveiled the new eco-friendly and sustainable Stoupaine Village Hall with an official ceremony at the end of November. The £9,622 grant from the Dorset County Council Fund made the build possible.
The new hall is a valuable community hub as it hosts numerous clubs and activities organised by volunteers – people have the opportunity to keep mentally and physically active. It reduces isolation and provides a place to socialise – extremely important in a rural area with reduced public transport and poor bus links.
Providing access to IT is invaluable as many don’t have access at home, enabling them to shop online or complete homework. The new catering kitchen will offer free cookery classes (in association with The Friendly Food Club).
