L. struggled to cover transport costs, household bills, food and course costs.

In addition, she also required a laptop for her course as most of her coursework was based online, but she didn’t have access to one at home.

The bursary she received covered the cost of a new laptop and some of the college meals. This has given Lauren the opportunity to complete her level 2 course, become a qualified florist and secure a part time job as a junior florist!

L. shared: ‘Without this opportunity I would not be where I am now so I am very grateful, as I am now 19 and hoping to continue at college for level 3 I will have a course fee of £1600 to pay – so I intend to apply for this bursary again.’
