Superior, the Ferndown based leading manufacturer of precision rubber ‘O’ ring seals and special mouldings, has set up a Bursary Fund with the Foundation to support young people aged between 16 and 21. The young people applying must be residents of East Dorset and have to attend or plan on attend Bournemouth and Poole College or Brockenhurst College on a STEM (science, technology, engineering or mathematics) course.
Mark Wallis, Commercial Director at Superior explained: ‘We have always shown commitment to young people in education or training through our own Apprenticeship Scheme and Training Academy. The newly set up STEM Bursary Fund with the Dorset Community Foundation will focus on those who are less fortunate than others and help provide them with bursaries for travel costs, course fees, special equipment, IT equipment and course related clothing.’
