For Local Authorities and Other Statutory Partners
We hold funds on behalf of local authorities and local councils such as the Dorset County Council Fund which was set up to build the capacity of the voluntary and community sector and parish and town councils in order to deliver stronger services and support for local communities. Since the inception of the Dorset County Council Fund in 2011, we have distributed over £1.2 million worth of grants on the behalf of Dorset County Council.
The Foundation is uniquely positioned covering the whole of the county and we have experience of managing strategically large grant programmes reaching out to and supporting charities and community groups that cover a variety of issues such as disability, education, sports etc.
By working with the Foundation local authorities and statutory partners can significantly reduce the administrative time and cost associated with the delivery of a grants programme. As part of managing the fund we also report on outcomes against set objectives and our grants team provide monitoring and reporting to meet the fund holder’s particular reporting requirements.
Larger National and Regional Charities
Larger charities such as Comic Relief and People’s Health Trust work with the Foundation as we are able to reach small grassroots organisations across Dorset. We deliver two types of grant programmes on behalf of Comic Relief – the Comic Relief Local Communities Fund and also the Red Nose Day Community Cash Fund.
