In partnership with leading Wimborne engineering company Superior, our fund is supporting disadvantaged young people aged 16-25 on STEM courses with bursaries of up to £1,500

Superior STEM Bursary Fund

This fund is now open.

  • Applications received by the 14th October will receive a decision by the end of November

  • Applications received by the 18th November will receive a decision by the end of December

The scheme is intended to assist young people attending further education courses in STEM subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics).

Applicants must be residents of a specific area in Dorset (check via this link) and plan to attend a STEM course at Bournemouth and Poole College, Brockenhurst College or Bourne Academy Sixth Form.

Applicants must be aged 16-25 who live on a family income of less than £30,000 or have other challenges (care leavers or cared for young people; those who have caring responsibilities for other members of their family; disabled young people and those with special educational needs).

What can I apply for?

Grants of up to £1,500 may be used to support essential costs associated with your course.

Examples include the full cost or a contribution towards:

  • Required equipment or clothing
  • Course fees
  • Travel costs
  • IT equipment

How to Apply:

Before making an application students should first approach their college/sixth form for a bursary. If they then need additional support they may apply for a Superior STEM bursary.
