Magna Housing Group and Cowden Care Farm are the two organisations that have confirmed their participation in the Do it for Dorset Week 2015 celebrations. They join a growing list of individuals, companies and charities that will be fundraising for the Dorset Community Foundation’s annual initiative Do it for Dorset Week (15-19th June). The initiative raises funds to support those most in need across Dorset, in particular older people, young people in education, apprenticeships and training and people with mental health issues.

Graham Colls, Chief Executive at Magna Housing Group elaborated: ‘We are very pleased to be supporting the Do it for Dorset Week initiative this year. We have always supported local good causes and fundraising for the Dorset Community Foundation is a great way of reaching out to local people who need support. It is all the more relevant to Magna this year as we are doing lots of work on neighbourliness within our communities’.

Cowden Care Farm, a Charminster based charity (which helps people to develop independent working skills) will also be fundraising during Do it for Dorset Week. They will be running a ‘onesies and wellies’ week.

One of the Foundation’s Trustees, Jennifer Gould has just completed a sponsored dog walk and a picnic to fundraise for Do it for Dorset Week. The seven mile sponsored walk started from Abbotsbury and finished at West Bexington.

Other companies, individuals and organisations that will be fundraising for the initiative are: Saffery Champness, Astute, Henry Digby/ Minterne House, Sara Jacson and Colin Brady ( a fund holder and an Ambassador for the Foundation), Ashley Rowlands (Chair) and others. The Bournemouth, Poole and Dorset County Councils are also supporting the initiative and will be encouraging staff to get involved through fundraising activities.
