The project supported through the Toby’s of Shaftesbury Fund enabled Higher Green Farm to purchase new IT equipment to support disadvantaged young people who are either experiencing learning difficulties or are dealing with behavioural problems which stem from dealing with trauma or abuse.
The project will also help young people access information that can enhance and enable them to achieve their Arts Award programme (an initiative which inspires young people to grow their arts and leadership talents more effectively) as many of the beneficiaries have no IT facilities at home.
In addition, providing a creative environment in a safe and beautiful setting enables the young people to develop positive attitudes and feelings of self-worth. Arts and crafts are a therapy in themselves and give young people a sense of achievement and pride in what they produce.
Higher Green Farm aims to work with small groups of young people and also offers one to one therapy.
