The Dorset County Council Fund was set up in 2011 to build the capacity of the voluntary and community sector and parish and town councils in order to deliver stronger services and support for local communities. Dorset County Council recognised and valued the potential of organisations of all sizes working across Dorset to deliver outcomes for the communities they serve.
In May 2015 DCF delivered the eighth round of the fund and in total, since its inception, DCF distributed over £1.2 million worth of grants. DCF worked closely with the Joint Commissioning Manager from Dorset County Council to decide on priorities and outcomes for each funding round. Over 250 groups, which supported thousands of people in need across Dorset, were awarded funding from the Dorset County Council Fund.
